Finally...

Sorry I have not been writing but things have been going very slow here with the Guard. But not anymore, finally we are getting into Football Operations. I have offially made the swith from Saleman to Operations Staff. That is the real reason why I got the internship. Wednesday Nov 16 was my first experience working in the operations side. We got a new head coach, so I had to help out with setting up the Press Conference. Setting up included moving tables, hanging banners, and directed the media where the Conference was going to be held. I got my second taste of Operations on Sunday the 18th when the Guard held an open try-out. I got to meet the guys who were trying out, then i got to run the stopwatch for and record everything for Coach. We did the 40yd dash, and the 20yd shuttle. We only had about 10 guys show up, but there are more oppertunities in the future. I was also told some really good news, first, me and my fellow intern are going to be given a game that we are going to oversee, it is OUR game. AWESOME!! Second, i learned that I migt be doing professional stats for the Guard. I have plenty of experience with stats because that is my work study job on campus. All i have to say is this intership is filled with oppertunities and once in a life time experiences.

10/1/2007 Going on a Sale

Today was a pretty cool day, I got to go on a sale with my supervisor. I learned something that is very helpful. I found out that you always ave to adapt to the times of the people that you are trying to sell to. Actually I really did not get to see how a real sale would go, because we did not get to talk to anyone. That is why I said you have to adapt to the times. We did reschedule for times that were convenient for everyone. I really hope that we get their sponsorship.

internship on 9/24/2007

Today was a very interesting day, I found out that I was going to become a sales rep, but on the other hand I learned that due to some ownership problems I may not have an internship. I was given an assignment by my supervisor to find local businesses that might be interested in sponsoring the Guard. This is a slight challenge for me due to the fact that I am not from around here and I do not know many businesses other than those right around school. But I did find a solution to my problem, I started by looking in the local papers, like the "Up & Coming Weekly" to get a drift of what type of businesses I was surrounded by. My next step is to get a local phone book and look at all the businesses and call them to arrange meetings and try and cut a deal. That is the ULTIMATE Goal, to make money. When the organization makes money I make money.
